The Anchor Pub, Seatown
|
| Places of Interest
There are a multitude of things to do in the area and the cottage has a big
file containing lots of information.
Why not try the unique cross-country Tramway at Seaton, the miniature train
rides at Beer, the Great Dorset Maze at Rodden, cuddle lambs and rabbits on the
Ugly Duckling Trail at Abbotsbury Swannery or the Fleet Air Arm Museum at
Yeovilton. |
|
| And then right on the doorstep is Lyme Regis itself, scene of so
many film and TV sets, and full of fascinating shops, back streets, and a wide
variety of attractions for all. |

Promenade, Lyme Regis
|
| Dorset's coastline hereabouts is so important that it has been
awarded World Heritage Site status and it is heaven for anyone who enjoys
walking. You can either go along the breathtaking coastal path, or inland along
a multitude of paths, most well-marked, all clear from Ordnance Survey maps,
through largely unspoilt and really quiet countryside. |
|
|
| A little further, and you can reach the top of Golden Cap, at 656
ft the highest point on the South Coast, and be rewarded with unbelievable
views. |

Bluebells in Langdon Wood
|
| Or, slightly less energetic, you can visit the National Trust's
magical Langdon Wood, with constantly changing but amazing view point, and
bedecked with natural flora throughout the year - try the endless carpets of
bluebells in May. |
